2010 NT AQUATHLON CHAMPIONS:

Rising star Chad Anderson added to his growing list of titles when he took out the 2010 NT Aquathlon Championships at Lake Alexander on Sunday 30 January. Anderson relegated defending champion Grant Preddy to second place, with Lee Wilson taking the bronze.

The event which commenced at 6pm, attracted over 80 participants.

In the women's field, Michelle Gailey made it three NT Aquathlon titles in a row, leading from start to finish. Gailey was in impressive form, finishing third overall. Emma Winterflood took second and Hollie Goodall third.

CONGRATULATIONS:

Michelle Gailey and Kelly Rowe are the lucky winners of individual and one team entry to Busselton Half Ironman courtesy Triathlon WA. Our thanks to TriWA for this fantastic offer.

TERRITORIANS GO WELL IN THE WEST:

Six Territorians headed to Busselton early in December for 2009 Ironman Western Australia and again proved that we produce top age group triathletes.

Stu Fitch chalked up another age group win in M55-59 in an impressive 10 hrs 29 mins 08 sec. Stu has qualified for Kona in 2010.

Alison Croser was competing in only her second Ironman event and came agonisingly close to a Kona slot herself. Ali's 3rd in F40-44 in a time of 10 hrs 48 mins 49 secs fell a mere 18 secs short of joining Stu.

Other Territory results included Darwin's Kathy McKay completing her first IM in 12.50.40 and Rod Gregg (Katherine) reaching a long held dream of 10 IM finishes. Rod finished IM WA in 15.15.46. Alice Springs was also represented with Matt Yates finishing in 14.30.33.

Congratulations to our latest IM finishers.

Congratulations to our International reps

Congratulations to Chad Anderson who recently went under two hours to take 18th in his age group (M25-29) at the ITU World Championships on the Gold Coast (and just weeks after getting personal with the bitumen at this year's NT Long Course Champs). Kyle Gear also had a great weekend, taking 5th in his category (M20-24) at the World Aquathlon Championships.

Alice Springs legend Loie Sharp made the trip for the Sprint event and scored a top 10 finish in the F55-59. Well done, Loie!

Territory triathlon fans were glued to their computer screens on Sunday October 10 (Saturday October 9 in Hawaii) as local triathletes Nikki Roddie, Robyn Stanley and Stu Fitch put in a big day at Kona. A great effort from our International Ironman and women, who have all pulled up well and have many Ironman tales to share.

Michelle Gailey, Craig Garland, David McLeod, Jodie McLeod, Mick Outhred and Daryl Stanley mixed it with the best of them at the 2009 ITU Long Course Championships in Perth last weekend. Another big day with some awesome results.

Triathlon NT congratulates all of our international reps on their outstanding achievements.

2009 Arafura Games Triathlon

The 2009 Arafura Games Triathlon has been done and won. Triathlon NT congratulates winners Tim Ellison (Darwin, NT) and Long Hoi (Macau), and all competitors, on a great race.

Special thanks to Race Director Col Smith, Triathlon NT President Amanda Donohoe, DTC President John Thyne, Media Liaison Jane de Gault and the amazing team of volunteers who made it all happen. See you all again in 2011!
